Dominic Turned SIX

On February 15th Dominic turned 6!

It's hard to believe that I've been a mom for 6 years.

While Dominic is not our oldest child, he was our 1st child.

Here are a few pictures from his birthday.

 Our kids buy each other gifts from the dollar store.  Bella bought him a whoopie cushion....it totally fits his personality.

 If you look really closely you can actually see two of his gifts here -- the tent and the Cars2 dvd.

 One of our neighbors made this cake for Dominic.

(No, it wasn't a birthday gift....just a fun "sensory" activity.)

Happy Birthday, Dominic!

I am so blessed to be Dominic's mom. 

Life has not always been easy for him, but he is usually pretty good at taking things as they come.  He has been receiving therapy (speech & OT) since he was 1 1/2.  Rarely does he complain about going to therapy or doing it at home.  I am so thankful for that.

Dominic has a very tender heart.  He is also a fun-loving kid.

He teaches me every day that life is about the journey and not just about reaching our destination.  He loves to "stop and smell the roses" along the way....something I'm not often good at doing because I have my sight too firmly set on our destination.  Oh, the things I might have missed if he hadn't "slowed me down".

Thank you, God, for blessing our family with Dominic.
